Eden Media Group

The Environment and Development News, Eden is one of the foremost English language media reference in the Republic of Cameroon. Founded in 2004 as an independent subsidiary of the Center for the Environment and Rural Transformation, CERUT all of which are based in the City of Limbe, South-West Province of Cameroon.

The philosophy of Eden is premised on the development of the human kind in all its facets and transmission of useful information that directly increases the awareness and produce positive response as well as the active participation of the rural and urban masses to initiatives that directly impact the uplifting of man’s status.

The Eden Media Group is composed of professionals from various domains as diverse as the media. Its mission is to inform and educate Cameroonians about issues of sustainable development based on the belief that the human individual is both the main target and the major instrument for development. This mission is driven by the conviction that the major element for development is not capital as is widely held but the human self.

Eden therefore contributes to sustainable development through addressing such issues as poverty, women, sex and gender, children and youth empowerment, food security, health and sanitation, environment, conservation and forestry, corruption, advocacy, democracy and good governance, human rights, media pluralism and accessibility that also includes solving the problems of the underprivileged and marginalized minorities in the society.
 
Eden has also been classified many times as one of the Best English language media reference in the Republic of Cameroon, this is because  it has something for the pleasure and education of just anyone through a Newspaper published bi-weekly, a Radio station broadcasting daily at Frequency Modulation, FM 98.1 from the hearth  of Limbe City and a regularly updated Web site at http://www.edennewspaper.com/ organized in a dynamic and fully interactive fashion where its readers and listeners everywhere on the globe easily access ground breaking media insights, news and information from around, inside and outside of the Cameroon.
