Dear Editor, we write to react on articles published by the Eden newspaper No 450 of Wednesday 7th April 2010. The Article is written by Mr. Roland Mbonteh.
The attempt by Eden’s Roland Mbonteh to explain the problems of UB only represents his inability to understand such problems. The article from Eden newspaper which is more or less like a press release from the VC’S office portrays ignorance, falsity and character assassination. The said journalist did not bother to get the other side of the story from his so-called defunct UBSU Council members so as to give a balanced and objective view to readers.

Since the news of a new PM in Cameroon, there have been numerous writers trying to extrapolate the reason for Inoni's replacement. Some have really been epileptic like citing the Albatross scam etc. I think to answer this question is to first ask the question why was Inoni appointed? Nobody knows why President Paul Biya appoints or dismisses ministers because he has never openly read their responsibilities in order for the public to gauge their success or failure at the end-of-the day.

Mr.President, The fact is that the world has developed so quickly and become so rich because the world population has exploded in the past 64 years, from 2 billion to 6.707 billion today. GDP has increased by nearly 40 times. The world is much richer today than it was 64 years ago despite the great increase in population. Man is the centre of development. Development is by people for people. Where there are no people there is no development. This is the basis of economic development. People produce technology and capital; they are discoverers of resources, the makers of communities, cities, the creators of wealth.

Mr. President, Sir, Abortion Is The Greatest Hindrance To Our Economic Developmentand Progress Mr. President, I want you to reflect on what a great loss it would have been to the CPDM and to Cameroon if your mother had aborted you. What a great loss to the Democrats and to America if Barak Obama had been aborted by his mother. The world would not have seen a black man in the White House. In fact if any of us had been aborted by our mothers, we would have missed all the good things of life. To be is better than not to be. The world’s population as of now stands at 6.707 billion people on this planet.

Dear Chief Ekum
It is with sheer indignation that I have elected to provide this rejoinder against the last (above Re:) nay amid several correspondences intercepted either as a direct or carbon copy by my father, Crown Prince Jesco Manga Williams regarding the Limbe Paramount Chieftaincy. In pursuance of the strict query from the District Head who had earlier stopped the endeavour (unprecedented ever) by you to organise a pre-consultative meeting between my father, Prince Jesco Manga Williams and my cousin, Ekow Williams, you wrote that my father is pretending that he did not know about a committee you called ‘Limbe sub-divisional advisory committee’

On behalf of North West Fons united under the umbrella of NOWEFU for peace and development, I wish to react to a malicious report by Elias Ntungwe Ngalame in Eden 373 of 18 May 2009, captioned "North West Fons Warn Biya...Give Us University or Else..." As Secretary General of this royal constellation, I wish to state that as auxiliaries of the administration and as custodians of the customs and traditions of the North West people, we are not in any form of conflict with the Government of Cameroon. We who are closest to the people find it within our responsibilities to take their aspirations to the President of the Republic of Cameroon. We submit our wishes to the hierarchy in the pious hope that they will be satisfied.

Dear Editor, I read your story titled "Heifer Cameroon Empowers Kumba Farm Families" in Eden of Monday 4- Wednesday 6 May 2009. The intro to the story gives the impression that Bonakama and Main dans la Main farmers received only one pig each. This is not correct. The reality is that the donor farmers (GRA Women of Kake I and Bend Down Women of Pulletine quarters) received animals from Heifer Cameroon in two batches.
The first was in 2001 when the two groups received a piglet each while the second was in 2004 when they received three pigs (2gilts and 1boar) and four piglets respectively for finishing and multiplication. This, in any case, did not apply to the groups that received piglets during the ceremony reported in your newspaper. The ceremony was merely symbolic as the actual passing on the gifts of equal number of animals received by GRA and Bend Down Women groups (four piglets each to Bonakama farmers for finishing and three pigs each to Main dans la Mains group for multiplication) had already taken place sometime earlier. Furthermore, the picture that accompanied the story is not that of Dr. Henry Njakoi, Heifer Cameroon Country Director as reflected on the caption. You will agree with me that apart from using the wrong picture the thrust of the story is Passing on the Gifts and not Heifer Cameroon Country Director who incidentally was only represented by one of our colleagues. As a remedy to the second concern (wrong picture) I have enclosed a picture depicting the actual passing on the gift and another of Dr. Njakoi. While hoping to maintain our usually cordial relations, accept our best regards. Ekue John Epimba Communication Officer, Heifer Cameroon Editors Note In our last editor of Monday 1- Wednesday 3 June 2009 we published this rejoinder on page 4. However, the caption on the picture of the Heifer Cameroon Country Director, Dr. Henry Njakoi which was supposed to have read "Dr. Henry Njakoi: Heifer Cameroon Country Director" erroneously read "Dr. Heifer Cameroon Country Director". This was purely a typography error that slipped through us. We are sorry for the inconveniences this must have caused Heifer Cameroon in particular and our readers in general. Editor

Dear Mark, I don't know whether you are a student or a lecturer in UB. If you belong to any of the two groups, it could influence the way you perceive some of the issues on campus. If you are a lecturer, it means that one day you could become a Vice Chancellor, and when that happens, you will perceive campus crises from a different light. I do not want to contest your definitions, observations, and conclusions about which administrator are bad because of their inability or unwillingness to learn from what we see as the mistakes of their predecessors.
